 | Yes... rather unsurprisingly I have taken on a new club once again, this time leaving my beloved Atlas for the lofty heights of Titan Division 6. Athletico Alfander (soon to be renamed to Matres Nudum) is the unfortunate team this time. I'm not (as history will prove) a top manager... nor am I going to pretend I am... but I think it's fair to say I have come on a bit since my first club...
Club number one - Awsome United (Python Div 7)
Yes... that's Awsome without an e after the w... I really did waste my first shot at naming a club. Despite this embarrassment, I think the main reason why this team won just 2 games and lost 18 in Python Division 7 under my management was because it didn't seem as if I understood the word 'fatigue.' After realising this, I decided to start again at...
Club number two - FC Chicago Bulls (Python Div 1)
This team didn't do quite as badly under my management (not well by any means though!), but after my good friend wally moved to Atlas I decided to join him and head straight to...
Club number three - FC Parit (Atlas Prem)
I'd always wanted to be in a Premiership, for the banter, glory etc! So I joined a stuggling Premiership team, I managed to keep them in the top flight, but they weren't really going anywhere, losing money.
Club number four - Weston Raiders (Atlas Div 6)
I stayed in Atlas, but down into the same division as Anubis' Ravens (just look where they are now!), I enjoyed the competitiveness, but perhaps I didn't have the patience to wait at least 8 seasons before rejoining the Prem. So...
Club number five - 3.14159265358979 FC (Axe Div 1 - Prem)
(the first club I renamed since Awsome United!) I joined a division 1 club, the first club I ever really achieved anything at, promotion into the Championship in my first season, and the winning it in the following one, my first trophy. However I then realised that two seasons wasn't enough to build a squad fit for the Premiership.
Club number six - Hubert Cumberdale Plays Football (Tornado Div 6)
So I joined this Division 6 side, and we weren't bad we won the division in my first season, however it will never show up in my records because it was also my only season. I couldn't stand the (forgive me Tornado) awfully quiet local forums.
Club number seven - SixAndOneThird (Atlas Div 6 - Div 3)
I returned to my wonderful Atlas, and joined the first club I would actually stay at for more than 100 games, 222 in fact! In the five full seasons I was there we won 159 of those games we gained 3 promotions and built up a squad which could give any championship down side a run for their money... however I had concentrated so hard on improving the squad I had rather neglected the finances, and we were still playing in a 6800 stadium. With this in mind, I made one of the toughest decisions of my IAG life and moved to...
Club number eight - SixAndOneThird 2.0 (Manta Div 6)
This time I got my priorities right, increasing the stadium's capacity to 13,800 in little over a season ready to start climbing up those divisions... However once again I felt homesick.
Club number nine - Matrona Diligamus (Atlas Prem)
Yes, I came running back to Atlas for a second time, but this time I decided to rejoin the Premiership with a fairly average team and try to turn them into a real premiership contender, I mean, how hard could it be!? The answer... very, finances were almost impossible to handle, I managed to reduce the wage bill (a litte) but that was only going to be helpful if we could have a decent income too... which we didn't, don't get me wrong it wasn't bad, but not good enough to start increasing the capacity of the stadium, even after selling a couple of players. But then I was handed a lifeline... the merger! If Atlas was going to merged, chances are we would have been in the chmpionship this season, hopefully we could start winning on a reguar basis and get that ticket price up... But early in the morning on that day in March I was gutted to find my new leagues name was... Atlas... We'd drawn the short straw (well I had anyway), I stayed for a while but really, if I'm ever going to build up a 'Semi-superclub' it'll have to be built up over time from a lower division... Which is why I've joined...
Club number ten - Matres Nudum (Titan Div 6)
Once again I've jumped ship. Once again I've returned to a division 6. Once again I've walked away from Atlas. However I am now starting to prove that I can manage finances with my 2nd team, and beginning to get my head round tactics... So... could this be the one? |
