OK so I thought I'd do a review of how the season's gone so far for me and Aston Villa FC in Anubis Division 8. It's had is ups and downs sure, but I've enjoyed it :D. The season started incredibly well - I won all of my first ten games, including a 3-1 win against Itaiupucenter, the team managed by my best mate Joe (jjgoog), and then a 2-0 victory over current table toppers Thanet Wonders. I also progressed to the third round of the League Cup. Then, just one game away from setting a new record for consecutive unbeaten games, I lost my first game, away to Anything But 2nd. The day after, I crashed out of the Cup to highly ranked Top Flite on penalties in the third round, when I had come so close to winning.

The run then to Christmas was relatively okay, losing just four games. However, along the way I lost to key players to retirement, reducing the size of my already small squad to 16. My keeper then got injured, ruling him out for a number of weeks. This left me with only 15 available players, and this got worse when my captain Avent Bourbeau fractured his metertarsal in the return fixture away to Itaipucenter. I had to struggle on with just 14 players, but was still able to pick up a few wins to mainatin my position in second. But, Thanet Wonders began to run away with the title, leaving me in fourth after a crushing 4-0 loss to Radar FC, 16 points off the top spot. Spiralling costs also put me in big financial trouble.

So it hasnt been that easy, but I'm hoping that a high finishing position and the funds it will be hopefully bring in can bring me good luck in the league :D.
