Golden's first week Wonder!

After his first week as manager, Ade Bishop, punted by fans as the 'Golden Wonder', has pulled off a convincing and 'wondrous' start to his reign. With 3 wins after 6 games, 2 draws and only 1 loss, Woking fans' confidence is on the increase.
"My first week in position hasn't been easy", quoted the big Wonder himself. "My first priority is to the club and the squad. It is imperative we get the team right from the off. Without a good squad, we won't win games. Without winning games we loose fans and ultimately money."
"I'm keen to keep the fans interest at heart, but to do that you need time to adjust and get things right. Some things will work, some things won't. I ask fans to just remain a little patient and good things will come."
Woking have been under scrutiny in recent press reports which have claimed the club is on the brink of bankruptcy. With limited cash available and cash-flow on the decline, its natural that club fans are skeptical of the future.
"ITs true there are some tight restrictions in place when spending money but this is something that the board are closely reading. I am confident the tightness will relieve in time," claims Ade. "If the club was in serious financial trouble then I would not be here," laughing off the claim. But the next few games for Woking are no laughing matter by any means, as they face close competition Petter in Monday's next home match.
"Over the course of the next week we will be under real pressure to perform. Everything counts on us remaining focused, determined and perform at our best. At the end of the day that's all we can do, do our best and the lads have been told that," explains the Woking manager.
Woking face some tough competition of the division in next weeks line up, starting on Monday with the only home game out of their coming 4, and after having done so well to maintain a 5th place position in 3 games.
Woking did well to quell negativity on Thursday after their 4-0 thrashing of Interwood. "There were speculations that we wouldn't come out of this game with a win, a draw at best. Instead we won and comfortably. We must move on from that game and stay focused for Monday."

Keep up the good work but remember that it's the finances that make or break you in this game: never forget them!
BTW: Are you in Woking? I'm only up the road in Reading... ;o)

Good luck and keep that enthusiasm in the future. That's the kind of attitude this game needs to see :)
